Laser cutting is unusually demanding on compressed air. Cutting gas pressure affects edge quality and dross directly, and contaminated or wet air will damage optics that cost far more than the compressor. Standard 7 to 10 bar shop air is often simply not enough.
We supply 15 bar screw compressors for these applications, and where nitrogen is the cutting gas we can generate it on site rather than have it delivered — boosted to 300 bar with Sauer compressors where the machine requires it.
