Unfiltered compressed air often harbours harmful substances such as dust, oil, rust and moisture, so filtration is necessary. In the first stage the air travels through a tube-shaped mesh filter that creates a coalescence effect: larger particles adhere to the filter and water droplets condense into larger forms, which then move into the separation chamber where the air slows and particles condense further on a honeycomb pad.
